Madeleine Allsop, soprano, was born and raised in Plymouth, England. She has a Master of Arts in Opera from the Högskolan för scen och musik in Gothenburg, Sweden. Prior to this she received a Master of Arts in Vocal Performance from the Royal Academy of Music in London and a Bachelor of Music from King’s College London, during which time she studied with Joy Mammen and Caitlin Hulcup.
Recent opera roles include Isabella Don Carlos (Folkoperan), Sophie Der Rosenkavalier and Adele Die Fledermaus (Högskolan för scen och musik), Elisetta The Secret Marriage (Hampstead Garden Opera), Tytania A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Adina L’elisir d’amore (Royal Academy of Music). Other roles include Cleopatra Julius Caesar, Barbarina Le nozze di Figaro and Laurette Le Docteur Miracle (King’s Opera).
In both concerts and masterclasses Madeleine has worked with many different artists such as conductors Henrik Schaefer and Jane Glover, director Mira Bartov, composer Jonathan Dove and singers such as Christian Gerhaher and Yvonne Kenny. In addition, she has worked with coaches such as Karin Holm at the Gothenburg Opera House, Ulrich Stærk, Chad Vindin and Justus Zeyen.
Madeleine has had the honour of being awarded Anders Walls Confidencen-stipendium, Carl Larssons stipendium and KMA’s Leijonmarck stipendiet.
